DUI: Deputies contacted a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 700 block of Taughenbaugh Boulevard in Rifle on Feb. 10 at 2:14 a.m. After investigation, the driver, Steve Leon Read, 45, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was taken to jail.DUI: An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of White River Avenue on Feb. 12 at 1:34 a.m. and arrested the driver, Jordan Dane Harris, 22, of Rifle, on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, weaving, and obstructed windshield. He was taken to jail.Stolen plate: On Feb. 12 at 10:14 a.m., police received a report of a stolen license plate in the 1300 block of Prefontaine Avenue.Warrant arrest: On Feb. 12 at 4:18 p.m., Richard Owen Truitt, 34, of Rifle, was arrested on an active warrant for failure to provide proof of insurance, driving a vehicle while his license was under restraint for a drug/alcohol offense and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Domestic violence: Officers responded to the 900 block of Wamsley Way on Feb. 12 at 9:25 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Ruben Medrano, 26, of Rifle, was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of criminal mischief, animal cruelty and domestic violence. While investigating this call, officers contacted Eliseo Medrano, 20, of Glenwood Springs and found he had an active warrant. He was arrested and taken to jail.Thin horses: An animal control deputy responded to a call of thin horses on County Road 302 outside Parachute on Feb. 14 at 1:19 p.m. The owner was contacted and given some resources and information. Deputies will check the horses throughout the month to see if their conditions improve.Pot possession: Deputies contacted a vehicle on U.S. Highway 6 outside Rifle on Feb. 15 at 2:03 p.m. for traffic violations. After investigation, Cesar Namir Baca, 20, of Rifle, was issued a summons for possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, no license plates and failure to provide proof of insurance. A small amount of suspected marijuana was recovered and the vehicle was impounded.Pot possession: Deputies were advised of a possible drug violation on U.S. Highway 6 outside New Castle on Feb. 15 at 10:32 p.m. After investigation, Jordan Layne Burris, 18, of Rifle, was issued a summons possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was released.Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to an incident on Sipprelle Drive in Battlement Mesa on Feb. 15 at 5:55 p.m. and arrested John Carl Collmer, 43, of Lebanon, Tenn., on an active warrant. He was taken to jail.Traffic summons: Deputies contacted a vehicle for a traffic infraction on County Road 331 outside Silt on Feb. 16 at 4:37 a.m. The driver, Brian David Wells, 39, of Grand Junction, was issued a summons for speeding, failure to provide proof of insurance and having a stolen license plate. The vehicle was impounded.Restraining order violation: Deputies contacted Jeremy Martin Brownson, 42, of Rifle, at milemarker 93 on U.S. Highway 6 outside Rifle on Feb. 16 at 1:13 a.m. After investigation, Brownson was arrested on suspicion of a restraining order violation and was taken to jail.Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to an agency assist on East Carson Circle in Battlement Mesa on Feb. 16 at 8:28 a.m. After investigation, Justin Matthew Romero, 21, of Parachute, was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and was taken to jail.Theft: Deputies responded to a theft incident at milemarker 103 on U.S. Highway 6 outside New Castle on Feb. 16 at 5:20 p.m. After investigation, Jose F. Hernandez-Alvarado, 39, of Silt, was arrested on suspicion of theft and criminal trespass and was taken to jail.Minor in possession: Deputies learned of several suspicious people on U.S. Highway 6 outside Rifle on Feb. 17 at 4:26 a.m. After investigation, Eduardo Gesues Cabrales-Galloardo, 18, of Parachute, was issued a summons for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor and was released.DUI: Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Main Street in Silt on Feb. 18 at 10:16 p.m. The driver, Miguel Angel Reynoso, 37, of Carbondale, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving under restraint and improper signal. He was taken to jail.
