The I-70 corridor from the Eisenhower Tunnel eastward will be affected by intermittent delays over the next month and more, slowing both east-bound and west-bound traffic.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, traffic heading east and west at the Eisenhower Tunnel may encounter crews conducting routine maintenance and sweeping duties through the end of March.
This could result in delays of up to 30 minutes, particularly in the westbound lanes, from Mondays though Fridays between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., CDOT reported.
Further eastward, eastbound traffic can expect delays of up to 20 minutes at the Twin Tunnels near Idaho Springs, while crews conduct concrete wall construction from 6:30 a.m. through 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. During he nights of Mondays and Thursdays through April, crews also will be conducting rock scaling operations at the eastern side of the Twin Tunnels.
And lanes headed both ways near the Georgetown interchange can expect closures or single-lane traffic only, meaning delays of up to 20 minutes, through the month of March, while crews conduct rockfall fence work and rock scaling and removal.
