GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A local nonprofit, Friends of Mesa County Libraries, needs your help!
It's time for their annual Spring Book Sale May 16-18, and volunteers are once again hoping for good-quality donations (like used books, videos, CDs and DVDs).
"Friends of Mesa County Libraries sell books at all library branch locations and they hold two huge community book sales," Mesa County Libraries Development Director Lois Becker wrote in an email to the Free Press. "Funds raised help Friends fulfill commitments made to support and fund library programs and projects."
"Friends aspire to be one of the significant contributors to the Central Library (remodel) project. Last year, Friends gave more than $30,000 to the library," added Becker.
This year, the Spring Sale will support Mesa County Libraries' Summer Reading Program, teen prizes for a special art contest, One Book - One Mesa County, and the Central Library expansion and remodel.-
According to a news release, resale items should be dropped off at the Friends Book Drop, located at the First Congregational Church, 1425 N. Fifth St., across the street from the Grand Junction High School. The drop can be found "next to the parking lot on the west side of the church."
