Rifle Police and Garfield County Sheriff's Departments Cop Shop Report - March 14, 2013

Warrant arrest: Officers observed Monique Leticia Contreras, 31, of Rifle, driving in the 100 block of White River Avenue on Feb. 28 at 8:07 a.m. and knew of an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested, posted bond and was released. She was also issued a summons for traffic violations.

Identity theft: On Feb. 28 at 1:07 p.m., police received a report of identity theft in which residents' Social Security numbers were fraudulently reported to the IRS.

Theft: On March 1 at 11:08 a.m., police received a report that an electronic item had been stolen from a student at Rifle High School.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a report of a restraining order violation in the 300 block of East Fourth Street on March 1 at 3:03 p.m. A warrant was obtained and Richard Koucherik, 50, of Rifle, later turned himself in and was taken to jail.

Theft: Police responded to City Market, 1320 Railroad Ave., on March 1 at 5:10 p.m. for a shoplifter in custody. Santos Sanchez, 35, of Rifle, was arrested and later released with a summons for theft.

DUI: Officers contacted Roudy Ray Goodsell, 38, of Silt, near the area of Smith Street and Wapiti Avenue on March 1 at 11:22 p.m. as the driver of a suspicious vehicle. Goodsell was later arrested for suspicion of DUI, resisting arrest, assault on a peace officer and driving under revocation. He was taken to jail.

DUI: Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Fifth Street on March 3 at 1:19 a.m. Troy Nelson Reavis, 44, of Riceville, Tenn., was arrested for suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, driver license required and failure to signal.

Criminal mischief: Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of West Avenue on March 3 at 10:48 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. Police found that property belonging to the victim had been damaged. Shelly Ann McDonald Martin, 36, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief. She was later released with a summons.

Found cocaine: Police found suspected cocaine in a patrol vehicle on March 3 at 3:32 p.m.

Theft: Police responded to the 200 block of East Third Street for a report of theft on March 4 at 4:19 p.m. Items were stolen from a residence. The case is under investigation.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a report of trespass in the 1000 block of Airport Road on March 4 at 4:45 p.m. Following investigation, J. Arnold Austin, 81, of Parachute, was arrested and later released with a summons for trespassing.

Fuel theft: On March 5 at 3:19 p.m., police were advised of a gas skip from a business in the 100 block of East 26th Street.

Dog bite: On March 5 at 8:41 p.m., officers responded to a report of a dog bite at a residence in the 300 block of Will Avenue. The case is under investigation.

Parole violation: On March 5 at 3:19 p.m., a deputy assisted Garfield County Community Corrections on County Road 333 outside Rifle with the transport of Nancy Carol Wilhelm, 48, of Glenwood Springs, to jail for a parole violation.

DUI: Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Colorado Highway 13 and West 24th Street north of Rifle on March 5 at 10:09 p.m. After investigation, the driver, Craig Lindley Vardaman, 46, of Silt, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and speeding and was taken to jail.

Theft: On March 6 at 12:11 p.m., police took a report of an electronic device that was stolen from Rifle High School.

Warrant arrest: Derick Jackson Samora, 31, of Rifle, was arrested on March 6 at 3:43 p.m. at Rifle Police Department, 201 E. 18th St., for an active warrant. Samora was taken to jail.

Restraining order violation: While investigating a separate matter in the 800 block of South White River Avenue on March 6 at 8:01 p.m., police contacted John Brandon Stagg, 25, of Rifle, and arrested him on suspicion of violation of a protection order. Stagg was taken to jail.

Pot possession: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa on March 6 at 12:23 a.m. After investigation, Jason Dale Shaver Jr., 19, and Alexander Wyscaver-Hartsell, 19, both of Parachute, were issued summons for illegal possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and an illegal weapon.

Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a woman on Logans Lane in Battlement Mesa on March 6 at 10:28 a.m. Diane Denise Watson, 41, of Parachute, was arrested on an active warrant and taken to jail.

Warrant arrest: On March 6 at 12:07 a.m., deputies responded to a harassment report in the 200 block of Fourth Street in the Parachute area. After investigation, Joseph Ramon Valdez, 21, of Parachute, was arrested for a warrant and taken to jail.

Theft: Officers took a report of theft of electronic items from Walmart, 1000 Airport Road, on March 7 at 7:55 a.m. The case is under investigation.

Trespassing: Police responded to a report of trespass at Rifle High School, 1350 Prefontaine Ave., on March 8 at 1:33 a.m. Hugo Ruelas, 18, of Rifle, was later arrested on suspicion of trespass and theft and released.

Criminal mischief: Police received a report of criminal mischief that occurred at City Market, 1320 Railroad Ave., on March 8 at 4:20 p.m. An incident of "gallon smashing" led to a summons for criminal mischief being issued to Trever Loren Smith, 18, of Parachute.

DUI: Officers contacted a vehicle in the 100 block of East 30th Street on March 8 at 11:24 p.m. for an equipment violation. The driver, Timothy Harder, 33, of Rifle, was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI, then released with a summons for DUI and having a defective headlamp.

Theft: On March 9 at 11:16 a.m., police took a report of theft that occurred in the 100 block of Ute Avenue.

Driving under revocation: Deputies conducted a traffic stop at milemarker 103 on U.S. Highway 6 on March 9 at 1:47 a.m. After an investigation, the driver, Stacy Sue Record-Solinger, 44, of New Castle, was arrested on suspicion of driving under revocation and was taken to jail.

Weapons violations: Deputies responded to a suspicious call in the 100 block of Panoramic Drive on March 9 at 5 a.m. After investigation, Michael Alexander Newton, 43, was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, possession of weapons by a previous offender and illegal discharge of a firearm. He was taken to jail.

Tampering: Deputies responded to a report of criminal tampering on U.S.

Highway 6 outside Silt on March 10 at 8:07 a.m.

Warrant arrest: Deputies conducted a traffic stop at West 24th Street and Colorado Highway 13 on March 10 at 12:13 a.m. After investigation, Victor Garcia Gutierrez, 45, of Columbus, N.D., was arrested on suspicion of driving an unsafe vehicle, failure to provide proof of insurance and on an active warrant. He was taken to jail.

Disorderly conduct: An officer contacted Sophia Ann Concannon, 40, of Rifle, in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue on March 10 at 10:53 p.m. She was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and released. Later that night at 11:23 p.m., she was contacted as a suspicious person in the 200 block of Railroad Avenue. Concannon was arrested on a warrant and taken to jail, with additional charges of disorderly conduct.

Warrant arrest: Officers arrested Robert Joseph Capps, 49, of Rifle, for an outstanding municipal warrant in the 100 block of West Fourth Street on March 11 at 7:58 p.m.

Burglary: On March 11 at 9:17 p.m., police took a report of criminal mischief and burglary in the 100 block East Ninth Street. The case is under investigation.

DUI: Police contacted a vehicle for an equipment violation at the West Second Street and Colorado Highway 13 intersection on March 12 at 2:32 a.m. After investigation, the driver, Christina Marie Radomski, 25, of Rifle, was arrested for suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, and defective tail lamps and reflectors. She was taken to jail.
