Electronics recycling and data destruction, IT asset disposal, IT asset management, reuse and resale.

We will soon be certified to the highest level in our Industry. R2/RIOS™ is the highest achievable certification in the industry. We will be R2/RIOS and ISO 14001 certified by April 1 and we have passed the audit performed by a third party Feb. 14.We have added 15 jobs in the valley in the last year and a half. We are a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. We provide a great service that protects data breaches and identity theft and protects the environment.

R2/RIOS™ is the highest achievable certification in the industry. We are locally owned and operated. We protect data from the moment we take possession of e-waste. We hire local and invest in our community. We are members of the Chamber of Commerce, NAID, ISRI, RIOS, CAFR and other associations that help us be a better-performing business in our industry. We are up to a third of the cost of other recycling alternatives and we are open to the public six days a week to provide the most convenient e-waste recycling option in western Colorado. We thank our customers for recycling with us! We provide Certificates of Recycle and Certificates of Destruction for legal and compliance requirements.

Providing the most legally responsible, convenient and simplest, hassle-free way to recycle, E-Waste Recyclers of Colorado (EWRC) also offers the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you're doing all that you can to reduce your carbon footprint. We pride ourselves in protecting your data and the environment.

Ken Burns - founder/CEO: Burns has been in the computer industry since 2004; he started out selling and refurbishing computers. He has owned two companies in that time and worked for other computer recyclers. He realized that there was a need to recycle more computers than could be resold and moved into the field. He is a disabled vet of the U.S. Army and held a top secret security clearance.Sammie Baratta - VP, quality, environmental health and safety director: Baratta graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.S. in Environmental Science and emphasis in technology. She has been involved in the e-waste industry since 1999. Sammie was instrumental in e-waste landfill bans throughout Colorado, city collection events, and other state electronics recycling programs, as well as the analysis of downstream vendors in the R2 certification process. Sammie hopes to expand cost-effective and responsible electronics recycling options with EWRC. Sammie was hired in February 2012 to start a Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) Management Program.Steve Attarian - sales & marketing: Attarian joined EWRC in July 2012. Attarian comes from the commercial insurance industry working with businesses small and large on risk management, data breach liability and compliance. Steve also worked in the internet marketing and social media industry for two years. He is a Kiwanis member, GJ Area Chamber of Commerce member, Fruita Chamber of Commerce board member and worked many years with Office Furniture and Design Centers Inc. (now ProSpace). He is responsible for branding and market development for EWRC.

Hard to say; we love Sharefest (April 13-14). We support most things veteran-related, and we have donated to local churches including Catholic Outreach.
