Rifle Police Department & Garfield County Sheriff's Office Cop Shop Report - April 11, 2013

Assault: Officers responded to a bar in the 300 block of Railroad Avenue for an assault on March 22 at 11:25 p.m. by an known suspect. The case is under investigation.Domestic violence: Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of West Sixth Street on March 23 at 1:20 p.m. and found a man had left the scene. Following investigation, Glen Madison Sell, 28, of Rifle, was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of first degree burglary, obstruction of telephone service, third degree assault and domestic violence. Criminal mischief: Police responded to a call of criminal mischief in the 1700 block of Howard Avenue on March 23 at 1:45 p.m. and found a door to a vacant residence had been damaged.Graffiti: Police responded to a call of someone spraying graffiti under the bridge in the 1600 block of White River Avenue on March 23 at 4:05 p.m. Benjamin Darren Wood, 21, of Rifle, was issued a summons for damaging or destroying public property.Assault: On March 23 at 7:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault between family members in the 1100 block of Park Avenue. Ruben Chavez, 19, of Rifle, was issued a summons for assault and released.Domestic violence: Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of East Fifth Street on March 24 at 5:09 p.m. Police identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Jessica Myone Widmer, 23, of Rifle, turned herself in at the Police Department and was taken to jail.Theft: On March 24 at 7:03 p.m., police received a report that a license plate had been stolen off a vehicle.Gas skips: On March 25, police took reports of three separate fuel thefts in the 100 block of East 26th Street.Shoplifting: Police received a report of theft at a business in the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue on March 26 at 2:12 p.m. The business signed a trespass order related to the suspect.Restraining order violation/warrant arrest: Police were informed of a 911 hang up in the 800 block of Garden Lane on March 26 at 4:06 p.m. Officers found Erica Lynn Jaramillo, 30, of Rifle, allegedly under the influence of illegal drugs. She was also found to have an arrest warrant and a restraining order that prevented her from possessing or consuming controlled substances. Jaramillo was arrested and taken to jail. During the investigation, officers arrested David Lee Johnson, 51, of Rifle, on an outstanding warrant.Gas skip: On March 26 at 7:47 p.m., police received a report of fuel theft from the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue.Theft: On March 26 at 10:40 p.m., police learned of an electronic device reportedly stolen from Rifle High School.Driving under restraint: Officers contacted Bryon Lee Galliher, 28, of Rifle, in the 300 block of South Seventh Street on March 26 at 10:39 p.m. for a driving violation. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under restraint and was released with a summons.Trespass: A deputy responded to a criminal trespass on East Tamarack Circle in Battlement Mesa on March 28 at 3:49 a.m. No suspects were identified. The case is closed and inactive pending further leads.Fake license plate: Deputies contacted a vehicle displaying fictitious plates in the 300 block of Arroyo Drive in Battlement Mesa on March 28 at 11:55 p.m. After investigation, the driver, Marco Antonio Villavicencio-Aguilar, 32, of Rifle, was issued a summons and released.Domestic violence: On March 28 at 9:14 a.m., police received a report of a domestic disturbance in the 2100 block of Railroad Avenue. After investigation, Fidencio Sanchez Perez, 40, of Rifle, was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of harassment, menacing and domestic violence.DUI: Officers contacted a vehicle in the 500 block of Railroad Avenue for traffic violations on March 29 at 3:20 a.m. The driver, Juan Sanchez Jr., 31, of Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving without a license and was taken to jail.Warrant arrest: Eddy Ricardo Ordonez, 23, of Rifle, was contacted by police for a traffic violation at the park-and-ride lot at Railroad Avenue and Centennial Parkway on March 29 at 10:30 p.m. and was arrested on an active warrant. He was taken to jail.Egged window: On March 29 at 9:39 p.m., an officer received a report of criminal mischief near the intersection of West Third Street and West Avenue. An egg was thrown at a vehicle, apparently breaking the window.Domestic violence: Officers responded to the 800 block of South White River Avenue on March 29 at 10:37 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Krystal Nicole Turner, 23, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, violation of a protection order and domestic violence. She was taken to jail.Warrant arrest: Officers saw Bradley Joe Duffy, 46, of Silt, in the 500 block of West Avenue on March 30 at 1:20 a.m. and knew he had an active warrant. During his arrest, Duffy was found to be in possession of suspected drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken to jail for the warrant and on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.Theft: Police responded to a report of theft in the 400 block of West Second Street on March 30 at 8:55 a.m. in which a 16-year-old Glenwood Springs youth was suspected of stealing alcohol. He was issued a summons for minor in possession of alcohol and theft. While reviewing video of the incident, officers saw an unrelated incident of theft of alcohol. Abie Montoya, 44, was later issued a summons for theft.Dog bite: On March 30 at 10:44 a.m., police investigated a report of a dog bite in the 1000 block of West 24th Street. Eric Ortiz, 43, of Rifle, was issued a citation for dog at large, having a potentially dangerous animal and no proof of rabies vaccination. The dog was placed in quarantine.DUI: Ryan Dale Wagster, 37, of Glenwood Springs, was contacted by police in the 3100 block of Coal Mine Avenue on March 30 at 7:24 p.m. while investigating a disturbance. Wagster was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order, DUI, driving with a revoked license and traffic violations. He was taken to jail.Fight: Officers responded to a reported assault in the 500 block of West 24th Street on March 30 at 10:08 p.m. in which it appears several juveniles were consuming alcohol and a fight ensued between two youths. The case is under investigation.Burglary: On March 30 at 9:36 p.m., officers took a report of burglary from the 800 block of Taughenbaugh Boulevard. Electronic items were allegedly stolen from a residence.Stolen vehicle crashed: Officers responded to a report of vehicle theft in the 200 block of West 20th Street on March 30 at 11:30 p.m. The keys had been left in the unlocked vehicle. The next day, officers received a report that a vehicle had crashed into a fence near the 200 block of West 20th Street. Upon investigation, the damaged vehicle was the vehicle that had been stolen. The case is under investigation.Domestic disturbance: Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of East Avenue on March 31 at 12:05 a.m. Monica Lee Vetter, 32, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, violation of a protection order and harassment. She was taken to jail.Assault: Officers were asked to patrol at a bar in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue on March 31 at 12:50 a.m. and took a report of an assault that had occurred earlier.Theft from vehicle: On March 31 at 9:09 a.m., officers took a report of items stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of West 20th Street.Dog at large: Deputies responded to an animal complaint in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway on April 1 at 8:09 p.m. The dog's owner, William Crowhurst, Jr., 57, of Parachute, was issued a summons for dog at large and not having the animal licensed.Warrant arrest: Officers contacted Dustin Thomas Henderson, 22, of Aurora, in Metro Park, 1718 Railroad Ave., on April 2 at 1:59 p.m. He was found to have two active warrants, was arrested and taken to jail.Warrant arrest: An officer contacted Steven Nichols, 37, of Salida, in the 1500 block of Railroad Avenue on April 2 at 2:02 p.m. Nichols was found to have three active warrants. He was arrested and taken to jail.Theft: On April 3 at 1:52 a.m., police responded to a report of theft in the 500 block of Airport Road in which an electronic device was stolen. The case is under investigation.Child abuse: Officers received a report of a small child walking alone in traffic near White River Avenue and U.S. Highway 6 on April 3 at 2:45 p.m. After investigation, Blanca Yesenia Viera-Veliz, 30, of Rifle, was issued a summons for child abuse.Burglary: Officers responded to the 100 block of Daniel Avenue on April 3 at 6:53 p.m. for a report of burglary. A resident reported that a house had been entered and items were stolen. The case is under investigation.Pot possession: Deputies contacted a 15-year-old juvenile from New Castle on U.S. Highway 6 outside Silt on April 4 at 10:24 a.m. After investigation, the juvenile was issued a summons for possession of less than 2 ounces of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was released.Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a disturbance call on Spruce Court in Battlement Mesa on April 4 at 4:32 p.m. After investigation, a 14-year-old juvenile was issued a summons for criminal mischief and was released.Traffic and warrant arrests: Deputies contacted a vehicle on U.S. Highway 6 outside Silt on April 4 at 11:40 p.m. After investigation, the driver, Isaac Solorieo Rincon, 29, of Silt, was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license and failure to drive in a single lane. A passenger, Preston Arthur King, 24, of Rifle, was arrested on a warrant and taken to jail.
