Hoping to make today's tax deadline?

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Because they understand that it's human nature to procrastinate, the US. Postal Service will accommodate the parade of people pursuing a postmark proving punctual posting of their tax returns.

GJ area post office retail windows will be open with regular customer service hours today, Monday, April 15. NO post office retail locations are staying open late.

However, the Grand Junction Bulk Mail Post Office, at 602 Burkey St. (corner of 25 1/2 and Patterson roads), will accept stamped envelopes for postmarks only until 11 p.m. at the outside, drive-through collection boxes.
