The Colorado Department of Transportation, on April 18, will close I-70 for 20 minutes in both directions, at a point where it passes Glenwood Springs.
The closure, which will be at a spot just east of Exit 116, will be to enable the city electric department to relocate an overhead electrical line attached to a CDOT light pole. The electric line is to be moved to a city-installed utility pole because the CDOT light pole is coming down in the near future as part of an overhaul of I-70 lighting facilities.
Traffic on the interstate will be narrowed to a single lane in each direction to allow work crews to get in place and establish an emergency lane prior to the full closure.
The full interstate closure is scheduled to commence at 11 a.m. and end at 11:20 a.m., according to a statement issued by CDOT on Monday.
