A charity run to benefit Grand Valley Middle School in Battlement Mesa will be held Saturday, April 20.The Move It, Move It Family 5K Fun Run will be held at 10 a.m. at the school. The annual Hershey Track and Field meet will make its return to Rifle at 10 a.m. on June 1 at Bears Stadium.The national program includes events such as the softball throw, standing long jump, relays, sprint and distance running events. Participants can be from ages 9 to 14. Children from age 3 to 8 will be invited to participate, but will not be eligible for state competition.Winners can advance to state and national competitions. The New Castle Recreation Department, in partnership with Lakota Canyon Golf Course, is offering adult golf clinics beginning in early May.The clinics will consist of one-on-one and group instruction, range work, putting and chipping, and golf etiquette. Clinics are open to all ability levels. The adult golf clinics are offered monthly throughout the spring and summer, with the first session beginning May 7 and running through May 28.
