GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Have you ever wondered if you could do yoga?Perhaps you've thought of trying to incorporate meditation into your life?Those practices plus much more will be offered for free during Yoga West Collective's annual Vibrant Wellness Challenge April 26 to May 3. More than 30 different classes and events relating to health and wellness will be offered. In addition to a variety of yoga classes, there is meditation, healthy eating, a poetry night, communication skills classes and a movie night featuring the documentary showing of "I AM," featuring Desmond Tutu, Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky.Kathy Ziola will teach two introductory level Compassionate Communication classes Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and Thursday at 6:30 p.m."It's a good way to get familiar with an extraordinary model of communication," Ziola said.A special guest, Boulder resident Celeste Labadie, will present a class Friday, May 1, called "The Yoga of Love: Celebrating Our Differences.""Our intention is to promote wellness and community in the Grand Valley," meditation instructor Joseph Rolley said. The Vibrant Wellness Challenge is a membership drive for the collective, which for $50 a month gives you access to a variety of classes. It's also a contest to see who attends the most classes and events during the eight-day challenge. The three non-Yoga West Collective members who attend the most classes and events over the eight days will win free unlimited classes for one month.
