Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers hosts kick-off to recruit volunteers

Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers will be hosting a kick-off party to launch its 2014 trail and conservation project season from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the upstairs dining room at White House Pizza in Carbondale.

RFOV will present the nonprofit’s 2014 trail and conservation work projects. There are nine major projects planned for public lands in the Roaring Fork River Valley and neighboring area including trail improvements on the Crystal River Riparian Trail and Hunter Creek Valley Trail System, as well as wetland restoration on Crooked Creek.

The group will also share information about new programs that make it easy for people of all ages and abilities to get involved.

Based in Basalt, RFOV is dedicated to promoting volunteer stewardship of public lands by completing trail work and other long-lasting conservation projects.
