Federal Mineral Lease District spring grants announced

The Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District board has announced nearly $1.4 million in awards for its spring 2014 grant cycle.

Traditional Grant Program

City of Rifle, 16th Street reconstruction — $125,000

Garfield County Public Library District, Rifle Branch meeting room — $87,000

Grand River Hospital District Emergency Room remodel — $250,000

Parachute/Battlement Mesa Park & Rec Community Park, surfacing/landscaping — $295,000

Roaring Fork School District facility upgrades — $200,000

New Castle street resurfacing — $109,000

Mini Grant Program

Battlement Mesa Metropolitan District, Grand Valley Rec Center concrete repair — $22,600

Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport runway and apron — $25,000

Rifle Community Television — $25,000

Garfield Clean Energy, Western Slope compressed natural gas education — $25,000

Garfield County Public Library District, induction hearing loop — $25,000

Garfield County School District 16, mental health expansion project — $7,600

Garfield School District Re-2, LED wallpack lighting — $25,000

Parachute/Battlement Mesa Parks & Rec, Community Park surfacing/landscaping — $25,000

Rifle Housing Authority Phase IV window replacement — $16,000

Ross Montessori School, school bus — $25,000

Town of Carbondale, regional bike park — $25,000

New Castle, sidewalk repair and replacement — $24,840

Town of Parachute, paperless board packet project — $6,000

Silt Police Department, technology upgrades — $20,025

Two Rivers Community School renovation — $25,000
