CARBONDALE — The Roaring Fork School District Re-1 continues its series of public “visioning” meetings aimed at creating a long-term plan for programming in the district’s schools, moving its focus this week to Carbondale.
Facilitated meetings with civic and business leaders, school faculty and students take place during the day Wednesday and Thursday.
A larger community meeting open to the general public will be presented in Spanish on Wednesday evening, and in English on Thursday. Both of those meetings will run from 5:30-8 p.m. at Crystal River Elementary School, and include free food and child care.
The visioning effort seeks to engage everyone from local business and civic leaders to students, parents, teachers and school administrators in the discussion about how best to improve student success in the local public schools.
The visioning process began in Basalt last week, and following this week’s meetings in Carbondale will move to Glenwood Springs on Oct. 9-10. A complete schedule of the remaining meetings accompanies this article.
