According to Glenwood Springs Police Chief Terry Wilson, residents in the 23rd Street neighborhood reported finding the “door-hanger” type envelopes on their front doors over the weekend, providing a number to call for information about Bank of America.
Upon doing so, Wilson said the recorded message asks for the person’s bank account number and/or Social Security number.
“We don’t have much to go on, but we want people to beware and ask them not to respond [to the solicitation],” Wilson said. “Banks don’t do business that way.”
Anyone who sees someone distributing the flyers, or who has other information, should call the Glenwood Springs Police Department at (970) 384-6500.
