Rifle Rendezvous

Staff report

Spotty showers and occasional lightning did not stop people from coming out to the 19th annual Rifle Rendezvous this past weekend at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. The event drew people from across the region, with offerings of live music, carnival rides and other entertainment, including Friday night’s truck pull, which proved to be very popular in its first year, said Scott Brynildson, president of the Rifle Rendezvous.

Despite the rain and cooler temperatures, people showed up all three days to make this year’s festival a success.

“This year was the coldest, wettest Rendezvous we’ve ever had, and I think it was the most successful,” Brynildson said. “I think people are finally starting to come out and enjoy the Rendezvous.”

Plans are already under way for the 20th Rifle Rendezvous. Given its success this year, the truck pull will likely return in 2016, Brynildson said.
