MFHC Rifle clinic open 5 days per week

Mountain Family Health Center recently announced the expansion of service at its Rifle clinic from four to five days a week.

The health center, located at 195 W. 14th St., was built in 2011 and currently serves more than 3,000 individuals.

The Rifle center provides quality health care to the communities it serves, with special consideration for the medically under-served.

Founded in 1978, MFHC, a federally-qualified health center, operates clinics in Glenwood Springs, Rifle, Basalt and Edwards; serving more than 17,000 patients in Garfield, Pitkin, Eagle and Rio Blanco counties.

With more than 5,000 individuals living below 200 percent of the poverty level in Garfield County, thus having an annual income of less than $24,000, medical need is great.

Of that population, the Rifle center serves 45 percent. By expanding the operational hours to five days per week, MFHC hopes to expand access to the under-served population.
