Local bowler to compete in Junior Gold Championships

Staff Report

New Castle-area bowler Adrian White will compete in the Junior Gold Championships in Indianapolis this week, where he will be one of 3,500 bowlers from all over the United States. His division of 16- to 20-year-old boys will include nearly 1,400 competitors. The competitors will bowl all week long, scaling down to just 200 for the first cut and 32 for the final round, which will be televised.

White, 17, began bowling at the now-closed New Castle bowling alley and has been a member of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) since age 9. He now bowls at Fireside Lanes in Rifle. He attends Coal Ridge High School, where he will be a senior this year.
