Rollover briefly closes eastbound I-70 near Rifle

A single-vehicle rollover briefly closed eastbound Interstate 70 near Rifle early Monday evening.

Emergency responders were paged to the scene at 7:37 p.m. A vehicle traveling west overcorrected and rolled into the eastbound lane at about mile marker 87, west of Rifle.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid reported that at least two people were being taken to Grand River Hospital. Both were wearing seat belts and neither was ejected in the wreck.

On Tuesday, the patrol had no indication that the accident had been fatal.
