Around 3 p.m. Monday, the Glenwood Springs Fire Department responded to reports of smoke in the South Canyon area west of Glenwood Springs. Upon arrival, it was determined that a small pile of furniture had caught fire, though the cause is still unknown.

The blaze erupted a few miles north of the recent Oak Meadows fire, which was declared 100 percent contained as of 8 p.m. Sunday evening.

No connections or arrests have been made regarding the incident. If you have any information related to the fire, please contact the Glenwood Springs Police Department at (970) 384-6500.
