CARBONDALE — The theme of this year’s Mountain Fair is CommUNITY. The winning design will be on t-shirts, the official poster, and the artist will receive $500. Designs can be in any medium. CCAH: Open Reception of “Renascence: Works by Daniel Sprick, Dean Bowlby, Andrea Kemp and Gregory Tonozzi
CARBONDALE — CCAH is proudly presents “Renascence,” an art exhibition featuring original works by Daniel Sprick, Dean Bowlby, Andrea Kemp and Gregory Tonozzi, opening to the public on Friday, Apr. 29, and running through May 27. The term “renascence” is an older term for “renaissance” and refers to a renewal, or revival, in the world of the classical arts and the spirit of learning and culture. Each of these now established and highly respected artists had their beginnings here in the Roaring Fork Valley and it is a great honor for CCAH to host their masterfully crafted paintings and sensual, tactile sculptures.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS — A Tribute to Neil Diamond is the Glenwood Springs Community Concert Association’s grand season finale. Since his appearance on Dick Clark’s television show “Your Big Break” in 2000, Denny Diamond has become one of the most sought after Neil Diamond tribute artists in the U.S. He and his sons, Lucas and Spenser, perform music by one of America’s favorite entertainers, Neil Diamond, plus a few tunes by other favorites of that era, such as Johnny Cash and Glen Campbell.

Silt Historical Park: Wild Food Foraging
SILT — This talk will explore historical and current uses of edible wild plants in Colorado, including roots, shoots, greens, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Speaker Erica Marcineic distinguishes between native plants that make up Colorado’s plant heritage, species brought by early settlers, and more recent arrivals of non-native “weedy” species, many of which can be used for food without negatively impacting local ecology. If there is time and interest, the group will step outside to examine a few edible plants at our doorstep.
