ELEVATE: A Forum For Women

What: ELEVATE is an event that uplifts women from around the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys, encouraging them to connect with their community and invest in themselves while building confidence and sparking inspiration. Local speakers Christina King, Christine Fierce and Lynn Aliya will cover personal leadership, resilience and authentic communication. The forum also gives women an opportunity to connect and engage in meaningful conversations over beverages and appetizers.

Symphony in the Valley Goes West

What: Join the Symphony in the Valley for a western-themed concert that’s sure to be a boot-stompin good time. Enjoy live music from “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,” “Tombstone,” “Dances with Wolves,” and more, all performed by local volunteer musicians. 

When: 7-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, Saturday, May 10

Where: Friday, May, 9: Ute Theater and Events Center, 132 E. 4th St., Rifle

Saturday, May 10: Carbondale Middle School, 180 Snowmass Drive, Carbondale

How much: $23 for adults, $18 for seniors (65+), $7 for kids 12 and under 

Colorado Plateau Chamber Music Society Spring Concert

What: The Colorado Plateau Chamber Music Society (CPCMS) is a new program that brings top class chamber music performances around Western Colorado. They will perform at the Third Street Center during Mothers Day weekend, performing music from legendary composers like Motzart and Faure. 

When: 4-5 p.m., Sunday, May 11

Where: Third Street Center, 520 S. Third St., Carbondale, CO

How much: Free — $20 suggested donation. 

Mental Health Resource Fair

What: Learn about local mental health resources with representatives from community organizations and listen to presentations about youth mental health, positive psychology and stress management. 

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 13

Where: Grand River Health, 501 Airport Road, Rifle

How much: Free

Women’s Self Care: A Wellness Event

What: Enjoy an evening of self-care with an esthetician and reflexologist. Learn about facial gua sha massage and feet pressure points that support overall well being while enjoying light refreshments. 

When: 5:30-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 13

Where: Glenwood Springs Community Center, 100 Wulfsohn Road, Glenwood Springs

Roaring Fork High School Annual Art and Woodworking Exhibit

What: Support young artists by perusing art and woodwork created by Roaring Fork High School students.

When: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 16

Where: Roaring Fork High School Library, 2270 Colorado Highway 133, Carbondale

How much: Free 

KDNK Movie Night at the Crystal Theatre: The Commitments

What: Support KDNK radio and enjoy a screening of “The Commitments,” a classic ’80s comedy-drama about soul music fanatics. Watch as a group of working-class youths in Dublin form a soul band, set to a triple-platinum soundtrack. 

When: 7-9 p.m., Thursday, May 15

Where: The Crystal Theatre, 427 Main St., Carbondale

How much: $20 for KDNK Members, $25 for non-members

Spring Smash for Stepping Stones

What: Play pickleball for a purpose at the Spring Smash, a tournament that supports Carbondale’s youth empowerment non-profit, Stepping Stones. First, second and third place winners at all levels will receive prizes. Play partner pool play, with three games guaranteed, and double elimination. 

When: 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, May 17

Where: Young-Calaway Pickleball Courts at North Face Park, Meadowood Drive, Carbondale

Back In Black-Tie

What: Dress in your best and head to the Hotel Colorado for an evening of cocktails, dancing and good friends.
