An A for acting

… and for directing, but that’s not alliterative.

Glenwood Springs High School’s production of “The Addams Family” drew many theater fans to its March run. Now, it’s drawing statewide accolades.

The show is up for two Bobby G Awards, a statewide competition for high-school musical theater programs. GSHS senior McKinley Mueller is nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Grandma Addams. Director Kate McRaith is nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Direction. Winners will be announced Thursday in a Denver Center for the Performing Arts ceremony modeled on Broadway’s Tony Awards.

Last year, Glenwood’s Abbey Cheney was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role for her performance as Reno Sweeney in “Anything Goes.”
