Art aRound Town sculpture exhibition to be unveiled June 5

The Carbondale Public Arts Commission presents its 12th anniversary 2014 Art aRound Town sculpture exhibition beginning with a public walking tour with participating artists at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Third and Main Street in Carbondale. Featuring works by 13 artists from five states, Art aRound Town is a rotating, year-long public art exhibition showcasing sculptures throughout the town of Carbondale.

For 2014, 60 artists from 16 states submitted sculpture-based works for consideration. The sculptures within the exhibition include both representational and abstract works chosen by a jury made up of volunteer arts commission board members and town officials.

2014 Art aRound Town exhibition participating artists are: Fedrico Aguirre (North Las Vegas, Nev.), James Burnes (Santa Fe, N.M.), Steven Carmer (Fort Collins), Mark Cesark (Carbondale), Chris Erickson (Glenwood Springs), Michael Golins (Missoula, Mont.), Siri Hollander (Santa Fe, N.M.), Jack Kreutzer (Loveland), Pavia Justinian (Fruita), Gary Mitchell (St Louis, Mo.), Mike Rand (Carbondale), Kevin W. Shaffer (Evergreen) and Ryan Shea (Denver).
