Roaring Fork Cultural Council: Speaker’s Night
CARBONDALE — The Roaring Fork Cultural Council is excited to be bringing Nathan Woodliff-Stanley, executive director of Colorado’s ACLU, to the Thunder River Theatre on decisions regarding constitutional rights and how to deal with terrorism. Jim Calaway, RFCC Chair, will ask leading questions as a sound springboard for the topic. The discussion portion lasts approximately 40 minutes. Thunder River Theatre Company: Lon Winston Theatre Arts Scholarship
CARBONDALE — Lon Winston and TRTC have established a personal scholarship for $1,000, awarded annually to a Roaring Fork Valley high school student (Aspen to Parachute) planning to study theatre arts in college. The first scholarship will be awarded May 2015. The student must be recommended by their drama teacher or director and prepare an audition or present a portfolio for set, costume or light design. Candidates submit three letters of recommendation from teachers focusing on the applicants academic and personal attributes, and should be accepted to a university, college, or conservatory.
