This year, Odell Brewing’s Summer Montage Variety Pack features the newest Roots Release beer, Perle White IPA. Inspired by its small-batch pilot system, the Roots Release series honors the brewery’s experimental brewing roots and allows folks beyond the taproom the chance to sample some of its favorites. The Perle hop shines in this latest Roots Release brew, a crisp white IPA. Hints of herbs and fruit mingle with the delicate wheat for a clean and bright finish that will leave drinkers smiling

“Perle White features both the traditional Oregon-grown Perle hop, as well as a new public variety, the Triple Perle from Washington,” said Brendan McGivney, director of production. “Both hops provide a uniquely complex combination of fruit and spice, balancing the wheat with subtle hints of pepper and stone fruit.”

The Summer Montage also features summer seasonal, St. Lupulin. An extra pale ale, St. Lupulin is dry-hopped with select hops, including Cascade and Centennial, giving the beer a bright citrus and floral aroma and flavor. The beer is affectionately named for a legendary figure who is said to have passionately tended to rows and rows of hops, caring for the coveted yellow resin within the hop cones known as Lupulin.

The Fort Collins Brewery released the fifth chapter to the Out of the Ashes series, Smoked IPA, on Friday, June 13.

Smoked IPA mingles a soft, sweet smoke with citrus zest in the aroma, each fighting for dominance. Strong hop bitterness cuts through at the end to keep this beer clean, bright and full of flavor. FCB utilizes handcrafted malts from Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, Virginia, that are floor-malted, dried in a traditional wood-fired kiln and smoked by smoldering select local fruitwoods on top of the distillery kiln room’s cast-iron stove to create the unique flavor palate of the Smoked IPA.

The Smoked IPA is packaged in bombers and weighs in at 5.8 percent alcohol by volume and 74 International Bittering Units. Out of the Ashes is a bomber series of limited-release beers that showcase the varied and unique flavors and aromas delivered from malt smoked over wood fires.

The Roaring Fork Beer Co. in Carbondale this summer released a new beer, Slaughterhouse Lager. Named after the Roaring Fork’s biggest and most famous rapid, Slaughterhouse Lager is the brewery’s flagship American pilsner, handcrafted with premium domestic malts and Czech Saaz hops to go down clean and easy while keeping you wanting more.

Slaughterhouse Lager will be available through November on draft and in 16-ounce cans at restaurants, bars, golf courses and liquor stores in the Roaring Fork Valley. The brewery has partnered with the Roaring Fork Conservancy in an effort to give back to the community by donating a portion of Slaughterhouse Lager beer sales to the nonprofit organization.
