Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day on Tuesday, March 17, in Grand Junction
Kiss your friends, don your best green, and bring on the craic (that means fun and enjoyment in Gaelic, FYI): Tuesday, March 17, is St. Patrick’s Day.
Here are a selection of activities scheduled around the Grand Valley in celebration of this fun, Irish tradition.
KANNAH CREEK & EDGEWATER
Kannah Creek Brewing Company (1960 N. 12th St., Grand Junction) and Edgewater Brewery (905 Struthers Ave., Grand Junction) will host an all-day Irish celebration on Tuesday, March 17,. It will feature a costume contest, Irish-inspired food, and drink specials.
According to Kannah Creek’s spokeswoman Katlin Birdsall, Crossed Irons Irish Ale will be on tap along with Black’s Bridge Stout on nitrogen — which is “great for car bombs.”
Kannah Creek will also offer an Irish whiskey flight.
Both locations will offer a $25 gift card drawing for those who show up wearing lots of green.

ROCKSLIDE BREWERY AND RESTAURANT
Rockslide Brewery and Restaurant will feature two brew specials including the Paddy’s Pride Irish Red and Big Bear Stout from Friday to Tuesday, March 13-17. It will also offer corned beef and cabbage as a menu item.
A band of bagpipe players will perform on Tuesday, March 17, throughout the day.

Charlie Dwellington’s will celebrate on Saturday, March 14, and Tuesday, March 17, from 7 p.m. to close. Saturday will feature Guinness specials. Tuesday will feature a blues jam, drink specials and $1 tacos.

Thunderstruck Valley (436 Main St., Grand Junction) will host a St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Tuesday, March 17, all day. Offerings include an Irish-inspired menu and drink specials from Jameson Irish Whiskey and Guinness.
The menu includes corned been hash sliders for $9.95, green eggs and ham for $9.95, and Irish stew for $9.95.

FRUITVALE LIONS CLUB
Fruivale’s Lions Club will host its sixth annual St. Patrick’s corned beef and cabbage fundraiser on Saturday, March 14, from 4-7 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Clifton Community Hall, located at 126 Second St. Meals will cost $8 for adults, $6 for ages 6-11, and ages 5 and under eat free.

SONS OF NORWAY
Sons of Norway, Vestafjell Lodge, will hold its annual corned beef and cabbage dinner on Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (3133 F Road, Grand Junction).
Celebrate those Irish Viking roots with a dinner provided by Norwegian chefs. Attendees will also learn the outcome of the Battle of Clontarf in 1014 AD between the Irish and Vikings with a presentation by Tom Sorensen. The cost of the dinner is $8 for each adult. Guests interested in Scandinavian culture and history are welcome to attend.
