The Garfield County Fair & Rodeo, along with partnering concert sponsor KMTS, announced Monday that country music star Gary Allan will headline the main concert on Aug. 7.

A fixture in the country music industry for nearly two decades, Allan has sold more than seven million albums throughout his career. His albums have been certified platinum and gold five times in a row, and he topped the Billboard Country Albums Chart with a trio of back-to-back albums. His latest album, “Set you Free,” topped both the Billboard Country Albums and the Billboard 200 charts.

With hits like “Her Man” (1996), “Smoke Rings in the Dark” (1999), “Man to Man” (2001), “Tough Little Boys” (2003), “Best I Ever Had” (2005), “Watching Airplanes” (2007), “Get Off on the Pain” (2010) and “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)” (2013), Allan has been a country music staple throughout his career.

And Allan is poised with a new tune available March 3. Unveiled Feb. 25 at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, his newest single, “Hangover Tonight,” received rave reviews.

As a performing artist, Allan has sold out venues as a headliner from coast to coast and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Live with Kelly and Michael and Jimmy Kimmel Live. He has appeared on the covers of Country Weekly, Pollstar and People magazine.

“The Garfield County Fair board was pleased that the two previous years’ concerts were very successful and well-attended and felt there are not many opportunities for locals to attend a local event with a top-notch country western performer,” said fair and events coordinator Doreen Herriott. “They asked the Garfield County commissioners to increase the fair budget to bring a more well-known concert headliner here to entertain at the fairgrounds arena, which is an intimate venue compared to some of the other festival concerts in our region. The two boards committed to raising the bar to provide an even better concert experience for our fair guests and sponsors.”

Allan performs at the Garfield County Fairgrounds Friday, Aug. 7. Tickets go on sale June 1, and ticket prices will range from $10 to $60 each. Visit http://www.garfieldcountyfair.com for fair information, and tickets will be sold online when released.
