Downtown Market wraps up on Tuesday
Glenwood Downtown Market
Well, it’s sad to say that Tuesday is the last market of our 2014 season. There will be plenty of fresh produce, so stock up on it and put some away for the winter. It was great seeing all our old friends and vendors.
We will look forward to seeing everyone again next year as we begin our second decade. We would like to send a huge thank you to all of our sponsors, vendors, musicians, artisans and of course all of you, our customers, for making our 10th season so great. When we began the market we hoped to make a difference in the community and believe we have. Again, thank you.
MUSIC: Mike Waters and Bon Fire are in the music tent this week and prove to be multi-instrumental farmer’s market favorites, offering up an acoustic-electric joyride of originals and covers. Join them this week at 5:30 p.m. Mike Waters and Bon Fire are sponsored by Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
COOKING: The weekly cooking demonstration also will begin at 5:30. Jim and Sharill Hawkins will demonstrate making egg-dipped tortilla stacks with veggies and a black bean dip. The market’s demonstrations have been generously sponsored by The Pullman and Town restaurants.
THIS JUST IN: The Secret Society of Scary Madhatters has agreed to fly in for a night of holy terror witchy hat workshop session. Rumor has it there will be a collection of horrible hats that will be for sale at our upcoming market and Oktoberfest. Are you ready to be the scariest in the neighborhood!? Updates will be flying in soon.
OKTOBERFEST: Grab your lederhosen and join Glenwood’s Downtown Market for our annual Oktoberfest celebration. The festival takes place from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Centennial Park at Ninth and Grand. Oktoberfest features live music, beer, wine, food and artisan booths. Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company will be serving up its finest Oktoberfest brew. Hot food, including traditional German fare, will be available. Purchase your drink tickets at the market booth in the park and then head over to the beer tent for a cold one. Souvenir Oktoberfest beer steins will also be available for purchase.
Oktoberfest is brought to you by Glenwood’s Downtown Market and sponsored by First Bank, Alpine Bank, Bank of Colorado, Berthod Motors, city of Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company and Valley View Hospital. For more information call (970) 618-3650.
