Saturday night fireworks ended Sunlight Mountain Resort’s Ski Spree festival with a bang. Earlier in the evening, the Hotel Colorado hosted a Chili Cook-off contest and music by the Missing Link Band. At 8 p.m. the fireworks blasted off from Two Rivers Park, illuminating the town to the amazed “oohs” and “aahs” of the citizens below. Big trucks driving past acknowledged the bright display with a loud honking of horns. A cloud of sulphur smoke wafted across the river from the park. Angus Morrison and his wife Allie, Glenwood residents, hiked up the Boy Scout Trail to watch from the first bench on the trail. “From start to finish, it was just go, go, go,” he said. “It was spectacular.”
