This week’s performances in the Grand Valley include plays, rock bands, and electronic music.


CMU’s Experimental MET (Mesa Experimental Theatre) season will open with “Venus in Fur.” The show is set for Friday, Oct., 31, and Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in Moss Performing Arts Center (1100 North Ave., Grand Junction.)

According to a news release, “in this comedy, an actress’s masterful performance at an audition flips the script on the director’s expectations and turns the session into a tango for dominance between actress and director. ‘Venus in Fur’ is a laugh-out-loud study of the politics of sex and power.” The play is Rated R. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students.

The Western Colorado Percussion Festival’s free concert is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. in the Moss Performing Art Center’s Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Kolton Moore and the Clever Few will perform at KAFM’s Radio Room (1310 Ute Ave., Grand Junction) on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $18 at the door.

Mutiny will perform at Cruisers Bar on Friday, Oct. 31, at 9:30 p.m. The venue is located at 715 Horizon Dr. in Grand Junction.

All tickets cost $5 and the first drink is free. The show is 21 and over.


The Dueling Pianos will perform a benefit concert for Hilltop on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at Mesa Theater and Club (538 Main St., Grand Junction.) Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door. It is for all ages.

Dead Superstar will rock the stage on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5 and the show is open to all ages.

Drowning Pool and more will perform on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $16 in advance or $20 at the door. The show is open to all ages.

Dance to Butch Clancy, along with many more artists, on Friday, Oct. 31, at Avalon Theatre (645 Main St., Grand Junction) starting at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $25 at the door for ages 18 and up.

Zolopht and Tight Thump will perform at Barons (539 Colorado Ave., Grand Junction) on Friday, Oct. 31, starting at 9 p.m. It’s suggested to dress in costume.

JACK + JILL will perform at Palisade Brewing Company (200 Peach Ave., Palisade) on Friday, Oct. 31, from 8-11 p.m. A costume contest, prizes and drink specials are part of the fun.
