John Denver tribute plays Glenwood Springs
“Take Me Home: The Music of John Denver” starring Jim Curry will be presented by Glenwood’s Community Concert Association at 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Mountain View Church near the old Buffalo Valley. This tribute has headlined in Las Vegas, and admission is free for the public with purchase of a membership for next season. Tables will be set up in the lobby for ticket sales and renewals.
Jim Curry has emerged as the top performer of John Denver’s music today, and the familiar songs will be superimposed with multi-media images of wildlife photos and videos.
Membership in the concert association will enable pass holders to attend five varied and exciting programs during the 2013-14 season from October to May, including a concert pianist, a vocal quintet from Germany, an instrumental quartet, a tribute to ABBA and a trumpet quintet from France.
Prices for the series are adult, $40; student, $15 and family, $90. For those able to support the series at a higher level, Friends purchase two tickets for $120 to $239; Patrons purchase four tickets for $240 to $499, Donors/Co-sponsors receive six tickets for $500 to $999 and Sponsors, who are given special recognition at their selected performance, receive 10 tickets for $1,000.
