Music this week: Stray Grass, The Blue Gators and more set to perform

There is plenty of music scheduled this week in Colorado’s Grand Valley, including rock and folk between Aug. 7-13.


Cavalcade will host a variety show on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Pretty Gritty and Sam Desmore will perform on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10.

A weekly blues jam is set for every Tuesday night at Charlie Dwellington’s (103 N. First St., Grand Junction) from 7-10 p.m. It includes open-play sessions and performances by the host band. The event is free.

Huey, Louie and Dewey will perform on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Cruisers Bar (715 Horizon Dr., Grand Junction).

The Blue Gators will perform on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Miss Lonely Hearts will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

All shows start at 9:30 p.m., cost $5 and open to ages 21 and older.


Finnders and Youngberg will perform on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Fruita’s Civic Center Park (325 E. Aspen Ave., Fruita). The show is free and open to all ages.


Stray Grass will perform at Grande River Vineyards (787 Elberta Ave., Palisade) on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.


Tim and Richard will perform on Friday, Aug. 7, at 6 p.m. at The Local (336 Main St., Grand Junction). The show is free and open to all ages.


Ken Dravis will perform on Friday, Aug. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Wine Country Inn (777 Grande River Dr., Palisade). The show costs $5 for non-hotel and non-restaurant guests.


Tickets are on sale for the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival which is set for Sept. 18-20. Headliners include ZZ Top, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and Gregg Allman.

Three-day, single day, Juke Joint (late night shows), and camping passes are on sale now. Three-day passes cost $185. Friday and Sunday single day passes cost $65 each, and Saturday passes cost $70 each. Juke Joint passes are $25 per night, and feature late-night shows at various intimate venues throughout the town of Telluride. Festival four-day camping passes cost $40 per person, with camping located adjacent to the festival grounds starting Thursday, Sept. 17.
