Music this week
There is plenty of music scheduled this week in Colorado’s Grand Valley, including rock and folk between Oct. 9-15.
Deerpeople and Billy Pogany will perform on Friday, Oct. 9, at Barons (539 Colorado Ave., Grand Junction). The show is free and open to ages 21 and older.
Cavalcade (201 E. Aspen Ave., Fruita) will host a variety show on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m. The show costs $10 for adults and $5 for students.
A weekly blues jam is set for every Tuesday night at Charlie Dwellington’s (103 N. First St., Grand Junction) from 7-10 p.m. It includes open-play sessions and performances by the host band. The event is free.

COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY
A jazz ensemble will perform on Monday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Colorado Mesa University’s Moss Performing Arts Center (1100 North Ave, Grand Junction).
A fall choral invitational concert is set for Thursady, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff and $5 for students.
COPPER CLUB BREWING COMPANY
Ron Koss will perform on Friday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Copper Club Brewing Company (233 E. Aspen Ave., Fruita). The show is free and open to all ages.
Carlton Pride will perform on Friday, Oct. 9, at Cruisers Bar (715 Horizon Dr, Grand Junction).
Gerry Goodman will perform on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The shows start at 9:30 p.m., cost $5 and open to ages 21 and older.
FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Jun Watabe and Arthur Houle will perform during A Little Noon Music Series at First United Methodist Church (522 White Ave., Grand Junction). The show is free and starts at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
MESA COUNTY LIBRARIES
Mesa County Libraries Central Library will host Jill Cohn on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 6:15 p.m. The show is free and open to all ages.
Super Funky Band will perform at The Local (336 Main St., Grand Junction) on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 9 p.m. The show is free and open to ages 18 and older.
PALISADE BREWING COMPANY
Ragged Union will perform at Palisade Brewing Company (200 Peach Ave., Palisade) on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.
The Flying Balalaika Brothers will perform on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.
