Photo: A hot time at Rifle Chili Cookoff

Tm Bradley of Rifle, left, won the popular jalapeno-eating contest at the Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce’s 35th annual Chili Cook-Off, consuming five jalapenos within just minutes and was congratulated by Gary Miller of Miller’s Dry Goods. Once again, Mountain Air Mechanical of Rifle and president Mark Fergen, took the showmanship prize, and reserve championship was won by Grand River Health and their “Happiness” booth. People’s Choice awards were as follows: Red Chili — 1st place to Shooters Grill and 2nd place to Shear Intensity & Rib City Grill; Green Chili — 1st place to Shooters Grill and 2nd place to Blush Salon; Salsa — 1st place to Shooters Grill and 2nd place to Colorado Parks & Wildlife; Guacamole — 1st place to Shooters Grill and 2nd place to Mountain Air Mechanical; Specialty — 1st place to LT Environmental and 2nd place to Shooters Grill. Tania Diaz was awarded Most Creative Chili Bowl.
