Screening of ‘Veterans Day 11-11-11’ at Colorado Mountain College honors military service, educates students

Awarded the Silver Prize at the Nevada International Film Festival, “Veterans Day 11-11-11” will be shown in the New Space Theatre at the Spring Valley campus of Colorado Mountain College at 4 p.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

The film was created and edited by a team of reporters and photojournalists, including CMC assistant professor of professional photography Suzanne Popovich Chandler, and it has aired on PBS nationally and locally.

Veterans, active military personnel, students and members of the community are invited to the free event, which will include a facilitated discussion with Col. Dick Merritt. Current and prospective students who are veterans or active-duty military are especially welcome to attend. Viewing and remarks will begin at 4 p.m., and snacks will be provided.
