10-year-old phenom easily defeats Gov. Ritter in checkers
DENVER (AP) ” A 10-year-old has beaten Gov. Bill Ritter in a game of checkers in just 12 minutes.
But the 10-year-old is Colton Cardie of Arvada, the World Youth Checkers champion.
Colton won both the national and world championships in Las Vegas last summer.
Ritter invited Colton and his family to the Capitol Friday. He gave Colton a Colorado lapel pin and asked him to wear it at future tournaments.
