110 mph chase on I-70 Friday

A state trooper chased an Idaho driver at speeds up to 110 mph Friday evening on Interstate 70.

The vehicle was first clocked speeding on eastbound I-70 near Silt at 7:04 p.m., and the driver refused to pull over. The pursuit headed east on I-70 and ended at 7:28 at the Bair Ranch rest area at the east end of Glenwood Canyon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The driver, Nicholas Jensen, of Idaho, and a female passenger were arrested and booked into the Garfield County Jail.

Troopers discovered that the vehicle’s license plates were stolen in Utah, and they suspect the vehicle itself may have been stolen in Idaho. The incident remains under investigation.
