For every decision that comes up, I’ll match that with the vision, mission and goals of the city.Why did you run for council? I wanted t to offer my time and experience to the city. I have a lot of experience I wanted to share.When did you move to Garfield County and why? I moved here in June of 2004 at the request of my son and daughter-in-law to watch my granddaughters grow up. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse.
First thing you’d buy after winning the lottery? My grandchildren’s college education.Best vacation you’ve ever taken? Probably a week in Switzerland two years ago.What do you do in your spare time? I’m a member of the American Legion and the Rotary Club in Rifle. I’m also a member of the Rifle Sportsmen’s Club and teach pistol shooting. I also play golf with my wife and help out with Lion’s Club activities.Greatest accomplishment? Raising two of the greatest young men that I know.Ever had a book, movie or news event change your life? The most impacts were probably 9/11 and John F. Kennedy’s assassination – I know exactly where I was at both.Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Probably the Rotary Club motto: 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build goodwill and better friendships? and 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned?As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? By the time I was in high school, I enjoyed shooting and the military. I ended up achieving that. I enlisted in the Army, went to college and then attended the Air Force Academy (in Colorado Springs) and was commissioned as an Air Force pilot.
If you only had three TV channels, what would you watch? (Rifle Public Television) Channel 10, the Food Network and Fox or ABC national news.If you could have three people over for dinner, who would they be, what would you serve and what would you talk about? Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. We would have good old American food – pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy and vegetables. I would like for them to discuss how they dealt with and would deal with world government.Any tattoos? No.Whats the greatest invention of all time? The wheel.
