They started the Defiance Community Theater in Glenwood Springs and I’ve been in it since I was 8 years old.What are your favorite roles to play? When I get to sing, dance and act. That’s the ultimate role for me. I also love comedy and dramatic roles – I love to do anything.What is the hardest part about acting? Probably the time spent away from home because you really are away from your family and it takes time to get everything right in the rehearsal process. It’s hard, but it’s also rewarding.When did you move to Garfield County and why? I graduated from Glenwood Springs High School and left ten years ago, but moved back last October. I was living in Los Angeles and came home to do a show with Defiance and dropped off my resume to the Crystal Palace in Aspen.
What would you do if you won the lottery? I’d take a trip around the world and bring my friends and family.Best vacation you’ve every taken? To Maui with my husband on our honeymoon.What do you do in your spare time? I like to read, go to movies and get outside.Greatest accomplishment? Going after my dreams and taking the opportunity to pursue my dreams.Ever had a book, movie or news event change your life? Yes, 9/11 and the death of Princess Diana.Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? From my Mom. “Go for what you want. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to have my own perfume named after me. I never had anything specific. I just wanted to do what I love … and have a perfume named after me.
If you only had three TV channels, what would you watch? Bravo, the Food Network and ABC (the network that carries Grey’s Anatomy).Any tattoos? Yes, I have one. It is the “Om” symbol, which means “peace.”What’s the greatest invention of all time? The telephone.If you could have three people for dinner, who would they be, what would you serve and what would you talk about? Abe Lincoln, Al Gore and my mom, Jacquie Meitler. Mom would cook because she’s the best cook in the world and we’d probably have steamed artichokes and crab-stuffed chicken.
