19-year-old man not lost, just camping

A 19-year old Michigan man thought to be missing in Glenwood Springs turned out to be camping for a couple of nights in the Roaring Fork Valley according to his sister-in-law Donella Demorest of Los Angeles, Calif.

Canaan Demorest Lee, of Pontiac, Mich., was traveling by train from Michigan to Los Angeles when he made an unscheduled stopover in Glenwood on Saturday night, April 14.

Around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Demorest contacted the Post Independent and said that her husband, Kyle Demorest, Lee’s brother, had read a comment that Lee posted on his girlfriend’s MySpace page saying that he had gone camping for a couple of nights and that he left his luggage at the Amtrak station because he didn’t want to take it with him.

No one has spoken to Lee as of Tuesday at 5 p.m. The information is from the MySpace comment only.

“We are just glad that he is OK,” Demorest said.
