A Colorado man, 19, was reportedly died following a snowboard incident on Northstar, an intermediate run at Breckenridge Ski Resort Friday afternoon.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the man hit a tree and suffered severe trauma to the head and torso.

The man, who has not yet been identified but may have been a CU student, was reportedly put on advanced life support and taken to the Breckenridge Medical Center by ambulance after the accident, according to a statement from the resort.

He later died, Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson confirmed.

The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, according to the resort’s statement.

The incident is under investigation, according to a statement from the resort.

No details have been released yet.

“The Vail Resorts family extend their deepest sympathy and support the family and friends,” the statement said.
