2 deaths on the Monument in one week

Mesa County Coroner’s Office released the name of man who died in a motorcycle crash near the upper Serpent’s Trailhead on the Colorado National Monument Thursday (Sept. 19) evening.

Wayne Priddy, 71, of Euless, Texas, died from multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death has been ruled an accident.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, Matt Moore, 27, of Springfield, Va., died at the Colorado National Monument after he crossed the safety railing at Cold Shiver’s Point into an unsecured area and fell to his death. The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death has been ruled an accident.
