3 earn SGM scholarships

For six years, Schmueser Gordon Meyer, Inc. (SGM) has given scholarships to encourage local students to pursue educations in engineering and surveying.

This year, the scholarship was renamed in honor of the late Steve Westhoff, a highly valued SGM employee. Three scholarships were given this year.

Heath Prow, currently a sophomore at Mesa State College, will begin his civil engineering degree course work at Colorado State University this fall.

Desiree Brownson, a 2002 Grand Valley High School graduate, will begin her pre-engineering classes at Western Wyoming Community College this fall and plans to transfer to Colorado State University.

Tamara Haynes-Norton is a 2002 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School, and she will be attending the Colorado School of Mines to study engineering physics.
