3,800 Rifle residents lose power Saturday

RIFLE – Around 3,800 residents in Rifle experienced a power outage from 8 p.m. until 9:20 p.m. on Saturday night, due to an Xcel Energy power line that failed due to weather, according to Ethnie Groves, spokesperson for Excel Energy.The outage occurred at a distribution pole in south Rifle and affected residents from south Rifle on Airport Road to north Rifle, Groves said.”It was based around Centennial Gardens south of Rifle near McDonald’s,” she said. “But we don’t know exactly what caused it.”Power was restored shortly before 9:30 p.m.
