What is it like watching the patients’ diets? It can be rewarding in cases where people take your advice. When they don’t comply with my advice it can be frustrating.What is the 9-5 job of a registered dietitian like? It is pretty much different every day. I teach cardiac rehab, participate in the Valley View Hospital’s Valley View team, which helps staff members follow a lifestyle. I also see all the hospital patients and do outpatient counseling. I do a lot of community work, too. What is the most difficult part of the job? I would probably have to say just being one of the only dietitians in the area can be pretty time consuming. It is hard to not to have someone here to bounce ideas off. First thing you would buy after winning the lottery? A big house.Best vacation you’ve ever been on? Probably going to Alaska. We went on an Alaskan cruise two years ago.What do you do in your spare time? I like to do a lot of outdoor activities. I like running and snowshoeing, and mountain biking during the summer. Greatest accomplishment? Becoming a registered dietitian. Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? To believe in yourself.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a doctor when I was younger and when I was in high school. If you only had three TV channels, what you watch? ABC, HGTV and FOX.If you could have three people over for dinner, who would they be, what would you serve and what would you talk about? Ben Stiller, Ghandi and my best friend, Kendra Johnson. We would talk about humor and with Ghandi we would get some good insight on life. I would serve tofu stir-fry.Any tattoos? No.What’s the greatest invention of all time?
