Brain Bowl Champs 2011

Sixth graders from around the region competed against each other at the 2011 PEG League Brain Bowl competition on Feb. 16.

Teams from Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, New Castle, and Rifle met at Colorado Mountain College to see who would reign supreme.

Teams completed a written round to determine where they would be seeded in the nine-team battle. From there, they attempted to move up in the ranks during three oral rounds. Questions ranged from mathematical to historical and anywhere in between.

In the end, the traveling trophy went home with Riverside Middle School of New Castle. The Glenwood Springs Team A came in second, Aspen Middle School captured third, and Rifle Middle School took fourth place.

Congratulations to all the 6th graders who competed in Brain Bowl this year. We look forward to seeing you all for 7th-grade Brain Bowl next year!
