9 candidates sign up for Silt election
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado
SILT, Colorado – A total of nine candidates have signed up to run for office in the Silt municipal election, town officials said on Friday.
The deadline for submitting nominating petitions was Thursday, although town clerk Sheila McIntyre said write-in petitions will be accepted until March 5.
Two people are running for the mayor’s job – incumbent Dave Moore and current trustee Meredith Robinson.
Seven people are running for the three open trustee seats. Incumbent Bobby Hays is running for re-election, along with Rick Aluise, Paul Taylor, Bryan Fleming, Mark Rinehart, Bob Shivley and Tony Yorty, McIntyre reported.
The deadline for registering to vote is March 8, and ballots will be mailed out during the week of March 15.
It is to be a mail-in election only, and ballots are due back at Town Hall by 7 p.m. on election day, April 6.
