9 Cares Colorado Shares food drive to kick off in Carbondale
CARBONDALE, Colorado – The largest food drive in Colorado is coming to Carbondale on Nov. 14.
For the first year, The Fireplace Company, located at 935 Cowen Drive in Carbondale, will be a new and important drop point for the 9 Cares Colorado Shares food drive. The Fireplace Company is the only 9 Cares drop point in the region, and all donations will be distributed locally in the Roaring Fork Valley and along the I-70 corridor by Lift Up.
This will be the First Annual Fireplace Company 9 Cares Colorado Shares Food Drive, and the 26th Annual 9 Cares statewide food drive. Last winter, the food drive netted more than 440 tons of food statewide from 16 locations.
“We’re excited to bring such a helpful event to the valley,” says Patricia Blick, owner of the Fireplace Company. “I’m sure there are plenty of us out there who want to help during these hard times, here is an opportunity to do so. I’m asking everyone in the community to bring as much food as they can. It will go straight to the local families who need it.”
Anyone donating will receive a $10 Gift Certificate from The Fireplace Company. Donations can be made any time between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Nov. 14.
Food donations can be left at the convenient drop-off with the Happy Holiday Fireplace Company team of staff and volunteers who will take the non-perishable food and hand out the gift certificates.
