A cappella group Collage to harmonize on behalf of Bookcliffs Arts Garden

Come as you are, pay as you will for some a cappella soul therapy. The a cappella group “Collage,” formerly known as “Soul Therapy,” will perform beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the Bookcliffs Arts Garden, 955 County Road 293, located on the outskirts of Rifle.

The event is sponsored by the nonprofit Bookcliffs Council on the Arts and Humanities. Admission for the event is “pay-as-you-will,” said organizer Jack Green. “Become a member, volunteer your time, donate building materials, make a cash donation. Give whatever it’s worth to you.”

Collage is an appropriately named group composed of five musicians hailing from diverse backgrounds who have come together with a powerful common thread: the joy of singing.

Collage has performed predominantly in Colorado. Pam Petersen, Karen Mills and Ellen Ensley came together as an a cappella trio and were joined a year later by Eames Petersen and Ray Ensley to create a rich vocal blend.

As Collage, these musicians feature arrangements that encompass a broad range of styles, including traditional Irish airs, gospel, rock and roll, old and new folk songs, swing tunes, and more.

The Collage concert and dance will end around 8 p.m. Call 625-1889 for more information.
