The Nov. 29 win snapped a 28-year title drought for the Demons, who had previously won a title on the same exact date back in 1980. Glenwood posted a perfect 14-0 record in 2008, winning the 3A Western Slope League for a second straight season. The title was the second for head coach Rocky Whitworth, who previously won it all as Roaring Fork’s coach back in 1977. Whitworth and the Demons look to win two titles in three years – just like they did back in 1978 and 1980 – when they face Elizabeth in this Saturday’s 3A title game.

The Demons defeated Fountain Fort Carson, 21-6, on Nov. 29 to snag their second title in three years and finish up their season with a 12-1 record. Glenwood trailed by a 6-0 count at halftime against Fountain before putting up 21 unanswered points in the second half.

The Dec. 2 win over Valley, which had allowed just 43 points all season entering the championship game, capped a 12-1 season for the Demons.
